Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church in New Trenton, Indiana is seeking a new Pastor, since ours retired recently after serving the Lord with us for twelve years. The man whom we seek shall be accountable to God and to the Church to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the Holy Bible, God’s Word, to provide Christian leadership in all areas of the Church and its ministries. Missions minded is expected. The qualified candidate for this office must have received a genuine call from God and meet the qualities listed in 1 Timothy 3:2-7 and Titus 1:5-9. He must be of sound Biblical doctrine and not of mans’ doctrine! (Mark 7:6-13) An experienced professional with Seminary or Bible College training is preferred, but each resume will be considered as we seek God’s direction. We are seeking a sincere and personable spiritual leader with interpersonal skills for effective listening and communication and one who can appropriately be flexible and adapt to changing situations. A pastor who is inspirational, an effective Biblical communicator and whose preaching style can be applied to real life challenges would be highly regarded. He must be a good shepherd who will reach out to the sick, the shut in and counsel those in need.
Community Profile Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church is located in New Trenton, Indiana, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from Cincinnati, Ohio, 10 minutes from Harrison, Ohio and 15 minutes from Brookville, Indiana. New Trenton is a small rural community in the Whitewater Valley. It has approximately 300 residents, mostly older and Caucasian. New Trenton has a fire department, a deli carryout and a few antique styled shops. There are approximately 8,000 people in a 5-mile radius of New Trenton with its primary age group between 40 and 60 years of age. The next largest group is 61 to 78. The fields are ripe for the harvest!
